DODO: bed linen brand diversifies into sleepwear
FRENCH bedlinen and bedware brand Dodo began its diversification into the sleepwear field with the acquisition of CTM Style. The new acquisition produces and distributes the La Nuit label for men, women and children and serves 4’000 retail accounts in 30 countries. Following the acquisition, Dodo expects its sales to rise by EUR 24m this year, to reach a total of EUR 115m, while its export sales, that now account for 12 per cent of turnover, should also rise appreciably.
The addition of a related and complementary product to the Dodo range can be expected to strengthen its position in the French market. But this will be limited by the fact that the two product types do not share a common channel of retail distribution.
