CPM: political situation largely ignored at last edition
THE TENSE diplomatic and political mood created by Russia’s action in Ukraine, and the trade sanctions that have been imposed as a result, had very little impact on attendance at the last edition of CPM salon in Moscow earlier this month. With 18’500 registered visitors, the salon, that again included a separate Body&Beach section, suffered only a 4 per cent decline in attendance. Also, exhibitors are said to have been satisfied with the volume of orders booked. The next show is scheduled for 24 to 27 February 2015.
Unless the situation escalates further, leading to a ban on Russian imports of apparel, it seems that Russian retail buyers will continue to attend future editions of the trade fair.
