CHINA: watersports boost swimwear sales

ACCORDING to a report published by newspaper China Daily, the rapidly increasing popularity of water sports is fast strengthening demand for swimwear as most brands focus on practical designs for indoor swimming. Roger Mao, Speedo’s marketing manager in China commented: “The demand has evolved from low-priced durable products to high-quality branded goods with functions and technology that provide an enjoyable swim experience.”


Chinese consumers’ closer focus on functional swimwear could well lead to greater interest in more fashionable products at a later date.
