Surania, that allows its customers to create their own made-to-measure swimwear from a mix of styling, colour and print options, is not the first to offer customized products. Nevertheless, the wide range of options it proposes goes further than most towards meeting consumer demand for personalized garments. Currently, the aggregate of style and fabric options proposed by companies offering customized swimwear cannot match the variety provided by brands of ready-made merchandise but the gap has begun to narrow. In time, the swimwear market is likely to be composed of two main types of consumers: those who value individuality highly enough to accept a delivery delay of several days or weeks and others who seek immediate gratification or a lower price. What is certain is that demand for customized swimwear will grow considerably in the years to come. The more it grows, the greater the variety of options that will be available, thus creating a virtuous circle that fuels further growth.
