The first is that the number of Muslim women in the UK has caused this market segment to merit the attention of a major distributor. This suggests that brands and distributors in other countries that have a large Muslim population might also consider offering appropriate swimwear. The second is that a growing number of Muslim women are prepared not only to go to the beach but also to go in the water. This is important because it signals the evolution of a trend that could well spread from Europe to Muslim countries throughout the world, creating a huge new market for swimwear and swimwear fabrics. Clearly, this market will take years to develop but it promises excellent opportunities for all players in the beachwear supply chain.
