COURTAULDS: brands plan to expand abroad

INTERVIEWED by UK trade medium Lingerie Insight, the CEO of Courtaulds innerwear brands Gossard and Berlei, recently appointed Elise Recour, said that she planned to expand the brands’ presence in Europe, with particular emphasis on France and Germany where they are already established. Asked about other markets, Ms Recour added: “We’re looking at expanding through distributors and agents. We’re already selling in Russia and Poland and we’ve got a very strong distributor in Turkey, so we’re just at the minute screening all the opportunities in Europe and, separately, we’re looking to grow in the US.”




Assuming that it supports fully the expansion plan, Courtaulds’ Hong-Kong-based owner has the financial resources to invest in its implementation, which could allow the two brands to become serious international players.
