ESPRIT: capsule collection of beachwear being prepared

MARKING its first collaboration with an independent designer, casualwear chain Esprit is preparing to launch for S/S 2015 a capsule collection of beachwear. Created by Swedish blogger Caroline Blomst, who has worked with Zara and Vogue in the past, together with the in-house creative team, the new collection comprises some 25 pieces. It will be available in selected retail stores as well as online in April 2015 and includes 2-piece tops and bottoms, sophisticated one-piece suits and two styles of cover-ups. In fiscal year 2013/14, bodywear sales by Esprit rose by 4.5 per cent to EUR 112m and accounted for 4.5 per cent of total sales.

While first year sales are unlikely to reach a significant volume, satisfactory results of the beachwear range could encourage Esprit to expand its offer in 2016 and beyond to exploit growth opportunities in that sector.
