LINGERIE: e-tailer survey defines attitudes to lingerie


A SURVEY of 9’500 French consumers carried out by intimate apparel e-tailer Lemon Curve revealed that 42 per cent of French women had ventured out without wearing panties at least once in their life. On a more positive note, the survey also found that 78 per cent of women selected the lingerie they wore according to their choice of outerwear for the day. Further, 83 per cent of women feel that the right lingerie gives them confidence. The 27 per cent of men included in the sample expressed a preference for strings (61 per cent) and 80 per cent preferred to see their partners in sexy lingerie rather than nude. As regards lingerie gifts, 87 per cent of men said they had bought lingerie for their wives or regular partners.




The finding relating to panty-less excursions would have been more useful if it had been complemented with information about the occasion and what was worn as outer garments.
