London, 12th January 2015 – INVISTA, owner of the LYCRA® brand and one of the
largest integrated producers in the world, has set up a Europe-wide photography
competition to promote the legfie™, or a leg selfie.
Usfie, belfie, braggie, no-make up selfie… despite being quite a recent inclusion in
our lives, the selfie has undergone many mutations. We have seen (and taken)
selfies at home, on the beach, in the car, at the gym, and even in the bathroom.
Celebrities popularised group selfies during the Oscars, and presidents and opinion
leaders have all taken famous self-portraits.
And now, the LYCRA® fibre wants to pay homage to legs, by turning selfies around
and making them… legfies. So, we have organized the “LEGFIE™ LOVE by LYCRA®
fibre” competition, offering the young hosiery consumer the possibility of winning a
week-long trip to Australia. The second prize is a weekend for two people at the
Ushuaïa Beach Hotel in Ibiza and the third, a year-long supply of Pretty Polly hosiery
made with LYCRA® fibre.
To join in, participants must go to the LYCRA® fibre’s Facebook page
(facebook.com/LYCRAbrand) and upload a legfie™ that shows their interpretation of
the LYCRA® brand: Freedom, Movement and Comfort. All the photos that get more
than 15 votes, or likes, will go to the next round of the competition, where a jury
made up of three fashion industry professionals will choose the winners from
The competition will be held in six countries simultaneously (France, Germany, Italy,

(1st, 2nd & 3rd prize) from each country. Users can upload their photos from the 12th
of January until the 1st of February. Voting will be open until the 8th of February. In
order to participate one must be over 18 and resident in one of the stated six
