SPAIN: consumer confidence recovers

AFTER five consecutive months of decline, consumer confidence in Spain began to revive in June, when the confidence index rose by 5.6 points against the preceding month. According to figures published by the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS), the more positive outlook applied not only to the present situation but also to perceived future prospects.

If confirmed in the coming months, the more positive trend could well translate into greater consumption.
