CALIDA: search for new acquisitions confirmed by CEO
INTERVIEWED by local business newspaper Handelszeitung, Calida CEO Felix Sulzberger confirmed that the Swiss underwear company, that also owns the Aubade business in France, was seeking new acquisitions. He specified that the search was limited to European companies that were active globally and said that, for the first time in recent years, there were now several possible targets. Questioned about the current performance of the group, Sulzberger said that, while performance of the Calida brand had been flat in August, September and October, Aubade had achieved double-digit growth. He added that the economic crisis seemed would probably hurt mainly down-market brands and that the luxury sector was likely to be largely unaffected.

Even though Sulzberger insisted that the price had to be right, it is clear that, as the Swiss Franc is stronger than ever against the Euro, the time is ideal for an acquisition by Calida.
