STYLING: survey shows preference for basics

A SURVEY of consumers’ lingerie tastes done by UK retail chain Sock Shop showed that both men and women find basic underwear styles more attractive than more sexy creations. Classic combinations of French knickers and bra were preferred by 31 per cent of women and 25 per cent of men, closely followed by basic cotton briefs and bra. The most preferred colours were red and black but white came third, being preferred by 24 per cent of men and 14 per cent of women.

The growing demand for erotic styles noted in recent years in many countries has not yet displaced basic garments, at least in the UK.
