UK: men’s underwear preferences revealed
DEPARTMENT store chain John Lewis said in its annual report into shopping habits that British men in the Midlands area prefer small, tight briefs while those in the most western area, Cornwall, prefer the looser comfort of boxers. Men in the North West area show above-average preference for the more prestigious branded underwear, with the Armani brand as best seller, while Londoners buy on average, more long johns than men elsewhere in the country. The greatest demand for pink underwear and socks was also recorded by Londoners.
It is thought that the strong demand for long johns in London, which is one of the warmest areas in the UK, could reflect either the trend for retro fashion in the capital or their use there as athletic workout gear.
