THROUGH the Mast Global technical, manufacturing and logistics division of its owner L Brands, lingerie chain Victoria’s Secret is to provide assistance to start-ups in India. Mast Global has partnered with local concern Kyron to launch a start-up acceleratot programme named Leading Entrepreneurial Accelerator Programme (LEAP). This will provide Indian start-ups with help in areas that include mobility, big data, omni-channel, supply chain, marketing and security. L Brands executive Carol Dreska explained: “LEAP will enable Mast Global to explore new technology solutions while enabling entrepreneurs to gain valuable access to domain expertise and learning. LEAP will not consider taking an equity interest in the start-up as part of the engagement.”
Besides facilitating future sourcing in India by the lingerie chain, the technical assistance project will help Indian manufacturers generally to adopt state-of-the-art skills that will help them to become more competitive in world markets.
