Summary of news published during Week 47-2014

jpa4Sibil220NEWS this week that HanesBrands remains on the acquisition trail despite the major purchases it has made in the recent past is of particular significance for innerwear brands everywhere and at all price points. Not only does it signal further growth for HanesBrands, which promises to leave all its rivals behind in terms of sheer size, but it also indicates the likely move of the company into higher price brackets. A start in that direction has already been made with the acquisition of the Lou upmarket lingerie brand that is part of the DBApparel group. Future acquisitions will very probably include other high- medium price or luxury labels and those will also benefit from the competitive advantages provided by the highly efficient HanesBrands supply chain. Consequently, as it achieves further growth in terms of volume and sales, the group will also compete more successfully over a wider range of price points, winning more sales from a larger number of labels operating in all segments of the world market.
